Abstract

A package comprises an article between two packaging components (10, 12) sealed together around the article. One component (12) is a sheet of fibrous board or a laminate. The other component (10) may be a moulded thermoplastic shell. The surface of the sheet (12) to which the shell (10) is sealed has a pair of cuts (16, 18) extending part-way through the sheet on opposite sides of the seal. When the sheet and shell are forcibly separated, a ply of the sheet in the region of the seal separates from the rest of the sheet but the rest of the sheet comes completely away from the shell, giving access to the article in the shell. <IMAGE>
