Abstract

In the process for preparing impregnated polymer latex compositions by impregnating a hydrophobic substance in dispersed polymer particles in an aqueous polymer latex, the improvement comprises impregnating said hydrophobic substance, while dissolving said hydrophobic substance, with a water-miscible organic solvent and water in said aqueous polymer latex. Several techniques for dissolving the additive into the latex are disclosed, and also the use of preformed solutions of the additive. The process is mainly of use in formulating photographic additives.
