Abstract

Containers for storing food, medicaments, blood and the like have a peelable and/or burstable seal formed by sealing an oxidized surface of a polyolefin film to a second material. As described blood bags are produced by heat sealing together polyethylene films which have been oxidised in selected area by corona-discharge to form bags having peelable seals e.g. 76, and non-peelable seals e.g. 74. <IMAGE>
