Abstract

A fluid-flow control system comprises a control circuit 4 and a power circuit 5 for supplying fluid to a motor 1 (for example a steering cylinder). Control valves 20, 22, 35, 37 are arranged in the supply and return sides of each circuit, each valve being controlled in dependence on the pressure drop across it. A regulating valve 23 is operative to ensure that the pressure of fluid in the supply side of the power circuit bears a controlled relationship to the pressure of fluid in the supply side of the control circuit. The excess pressure fluid which is usually diverted to tank when the pressure regulating valve is in its neutral condition is utilized by providing an auxiliary circuit 8 and a priority valve 49 which controls fluid flow to that circuit and to the other two circuits in dependence on a pressure drop at an orifice 18 in the control circuit. <IMAGE>
