Abstract

A cross-slotted screw in which the slot (11) has a conical base (14) with a tip angle in the range of from 164 to 178 DEG , and a complementary shaped impressing tool and screwdriver with similar tip angles. Said to give longer tool life than known recesses with tip angle of about 124 DEG when used with hard materials. <IMAGE>
