Abstract

N-( alpha -Aminoacyl) derivates of L and DL-4-hydroxy or 4-methoxy- phenylglycines of the formula: <IMAGE> where R is hydrogen or methyl, R<1> is hydroxy, amino or lower alkoxy, R<2> is hydrogen, phenyl, hydroxy-phenyl or a lower alkyl group which may optionally be substituted with one or more hydroxy, amino, carboxy, phenyl or hydroxylphenyl groups, are useful in ischaemic heart disease, cardiac failure, cerebral insufficiency, obesity and diabetes.
