Grilling and toasting apparatus.-An appliance for grilling &c., more especially for use on gasstoves and gas-rings, comprises a massive metal plate a, having a plane upper surface adapted to be heated prior to its use as a support for food to be cooked, so that on being introduced beneath a gas-ring, the food is cooked simultaneously from above and below. Longitudinal grooves b in the upper surface of the plate a lead to a transverse groove c, which has holes d passing through the plate. A pan f may be provided to support the plate, both the plate and the pan being fitted with handles. Tha supporting ledges g preferably incline toward the front of the pan f. The holes d may be provided with protruding parts to assist the dripping of liquid, and the under-surface of the plate may be plain, so that it can be used for toasting bread.
