Vulcanizing by electricity; pressing-devices for. -In an electrically-heated tyre vulcanizing-apparatus, all the electric fittings, including the terminals 7, a fuse 8, and an electromagnet serving by the position of its armature 17 to indicate whether current is flowing, are sunk in the heating-box so as to leave no projecting parts. The screw 23 for tensioning the chain may be attached to the cover of the heating-box, so as to serve as a carrying-handle, by passing pins on it through slots 25 and engaging them in grooves on the inner surface of the cover. The heating-box 1 has a cavity 2 at the bottom adapted to be held against a tyre cover by a chain or strap 22, a support 20 is provided having an upper surface adapted to fit into the cavity of the heating-box and arranged so that a piece of work can be clamped between the members 1, 20 by means of the chain. The bottom of the heating-box may consist of an interchangeable piece 3 to adapt it to tyre covers of various shapes. Intersecting grooves 29, 30 in the base enable the chain to be used in two positions.
