Actuating.-Relates to the switching devices used in shop-window and like installations which have arrangements, e.g. an all-the-year cam, for switching on and similar means for changing over to a lower tariff. These means are inaccessible to the consumer, but, by adjusting a wheel h relative to a wheel i in a clock-work train, the switching off time can be adjusted by him. In the switching-on means, although the switching-on cam is designed to work for the whole year in accordance with the estimated nightfall, the tariff-changing cam only partly so corresponds and is otherwise circular so that a lower tariff, for instance, is only in force during that period after a definite time e.g. 7 p.m.
