L i q u i d - pressure engines.-In a pump or motor of the kind described in the parent Specification, the pistons are actuated by or actuate the cam 3 through bell-crank levers 4a, 4b, the pivots 1<a>, 1<b> of which are equidistant from and substantially in line with the axis 2 of the cam. The arms 6<a>, 6<b> of the levers may be arranged in the same direction so that the pistons are coaxial, or in opposite directions. In one form, the pivots 1<a>, 1<b> engage in slots in the levers and are held in position by continuous pressure of the pistons, aided or not by springs, on the arms engaging the pistons. The lever arm 6<a>, 6b may be of unequal length, the areas of the pistons being in inverse proportion to these lengths.
