Abstract

193,391. Withycombe, R. M. Feb. 16, 1922, [Convention date]. Toothbrushes; indiarubber brushes.-A tooth or massage brush is provided with a frictional surface formed by winding under tension on a former a strip 7 of soft rubber, having a series of serrations 8 cut therein, the adjacent windings being cemented or secured together. A distance-piece 10 is preferably inserted midway in the space left on removal of the former and is secured by means of an aluminium or other metal fastening. The wound strip is then sprung on to a base comprising two projections integral or rigid with the end of the handle 14. The handle in a modified form may be provided with a recess within which the base is situated.
