191,873. O'Brien, Ltd., T., and O'Brien, E. H. Nov. 1, 1921. Tills.-A cash till is provided with a drawer for notes which is retained closed unless the changecontaining money-drawer is open. The notedrawer A<1>, Fig. 4, is fitted with a hook D<1> which is engaged by the projection b' on the moneydrawer B when the latter is in the closed position shown. The drawer A<1> may carry, or be arranged under, a window c' and is fitted with a spring-pressed false bottom a, which, in the construction shown, is connected by a cable b<3> to a fixed stop e. A perforated hinged lid g is raised by means of a spring g' when the drawer A is opened. The springs b for operating the bottom a may be replaced by a weighted lever. In the modification shown in Fig. 9, a hooked arm D' and a weighted lever D control the opening of a hinged cover C<1> and the notedrawer A' respectively, and are locked against operation by the money-drawer B when this is in the closed' position (shown). The note first placed in a receptacle A is transferred to the drawer A' bv a cranked lever K which is rocked about its pivot e<2> by a rocking lever L actuated by a lug b<4> on the drawer B. A spring k<2> serves to return the lever K on closure of the drawer B.
