Windows and the like, cleaning.-A device for cleaning both sides of a window simultaneously comprises two lazy-tongs carrying wipers and connected so that any movement imparted to the inside wiper is followed by the outside wiper. Holders 33 for the wipers are carried by lazytongs 6, 7 whose bottom members 13, 14 are attached to U-shaped members 11 pivotally mounted on pins fixed to shafts 9, 10 which may rotate freely in a bracket 8, the bracket being pivotally mounted in a frame 19 fixed to a clamp adapted to be secured to the window-sill. The clamp comprises two cross-bars 23 pivoting on a pin 34 which also, carries pivotally the frame 19, each end of the cross-bars having an upright projection 24; the bars are made to approach each other by a screw 28 so that the two pairs of uprights grip the sill. Slotted guide-bars 21 for the lazy-tongs are pivotally mounted in the bracket 8 so that they may be swung away from the glass, carrying with them the lazy-tongs which pivot about the pins through the shafts 9, 10; these guide-bars are connected by intermeshing toothed quadrants 22 adapted to pass through an opening in the bracket 8. As the inside wiper is moved over the glass, or away from the glass to surmount obstacles, the outside wiper will move identically due to the rotation of shafts 9, 10, the rocking of the bracket 8 and the turning of the quadrants 22. When the wipers require changing the lazy-tongs are collapsed, the inside guide-member 21 swung away from the glass until both lazy-tongs are horizontal; the apparatus may then be rotated about the pivot-pin 34, after a catch 31 which normally locks the frame 19 against rotation has been released, and the outside' wiper brought inside.
