S p r i n g wheels.-Curved springs 15 clamped between hub flanges 11, 20 have their outer ends secured within an inverted channel rim 22 by bolts 30 which also serve to attach an outer channel rim 23. A detachable rim may be secured on the rim 23 by means of transverse bolts 31 and clamps 32. The inner ends of the springs 15 are positioned bv collars 18 having aligned radial slots extending from their inner and outer peripheries, the adjoining full parts of the collars being received in notches 17 in the springs. In modifications, the outer end of each spring is formed into three tongues two of which are bent in opposite directions to seat against the rim 22, the middle tongue being curled to house a transverse bolt; or the outer ends of the spokes mav be formed with ears bolted to the flanges of the rim 22. In the modification shown in Fig. 6, the inner rim comprises a narrow channel portion 41 and side-webs 40 for attachment to the rim 23. The outer ends of the springs are channelled at 44 to embrace the portion 41 and are secured bv bolts 45. Two or more springs, entirely separate or formed on a common inner end, may be arranged side by side, the curvature in alternate springs being opposed. Where separate springs are used, a spacing-collar is fitted between adjacent pairs.
