Abstract

14,473. Davison, S M. Oct. 13. Subaqueous sound signals. - In a subaqueous signal sound receiver of microphone transmitter type, specially adapted to exclude water from the microphone case, the case, diaphragm J, and stem through which the leads enter, are integrally formed from one piece of metal. After mounting the microphone C, the back of the case is closed by a disk A soldered in place, and a cover screwed into place against a gasket E. The solder may be coated with paint to resist the action of moisture, or the space between the disk and screw cover may be filled with pitch, paraffin wax, &c. D. The stem of the device is corrugated, and a rubber sleeve G, which extends to the junction box or is formed in one piece with the lead H, is vulcanized in place. A clip I may be added for security. The case may be embedded in solid materials such as are described in Specification 12,266/13.
