Ratchet and like step-by-step conveyers.-ln machines having a number of forwarding- tables of the type in which two series of longitudinal bars receive alternately both vertical and horizontal reciprocations as described in Specification 227/10, the series of bars moving in the same horizontal direction in the different tables are actuated by the same means. Two vertical bars, g, h, reciprocated in opposite directions by the links l, m, are provided on each side of the machine, the bars g being bolted to the outside bars a in alternate tables and having a sliding connexion with the outside bars b of the other alternate tables, so that all these bars are reciprocated in the same horizontal direction. The bar h is similarly connected to the remaining outside bars a, b. These bars a, b carry the longitudinal bars of the several tables, and are reciprocated vertically in opposite directions by the rods e, f.
