Abstract

9976. Lindstr÷m, G. H. July 8. Inking-apparatus.-The inking-cylinder is reciprocated longitudinally to an adjustable extent by means of a concentric cam on the cylinder held by a spring in engagement with an abutment on the framing, which can be radially adjusted to engage different parts of the cam and vary the amount of reciprocation. The inking-cylinder 2 is carried on a shaft 3 in a frame 1, and has plates 4, 5 bolted to its ends, the plate 4 carrying a concentricallymounted cam 6, and the plate 5 having holes engaging pins 10 in a driving spur-wheel 9; a coil spring 8 is interposed to maintain the cam 6 in engagement with an abutment 12. The cam 6 has inclined surfaces extending from its periphery to an inner surface at right-angles to the shaft 3, whereby, on adjusting the abutment 12 radially, the amount of reciprocation of the inking-cylinder 2 can be varied from zero to a maximum. The abutment 12 is in the form of a truckle on a slide 15, Fig. 4, moving in a guide-slot in frame 1 and operated by a screw 16 and knob 17.
