Post and like files ; flexible-band files.-A transfer device, for removing documents from a pile filed on flexible metal prongs or the like, consists of a back-plate c carrying two or more prongs g, as shown in Fig. 1. In using the device, the prongs g are passed into the holes c in the papers d in contact with the posts b of the file, as shown in Fig. 3. The points of the prongs b pass out through apertures h in the plate e. The front of the plate e may be provided with ribs f, and the prongs g may be formed integral with it or be fixed to it ; or one of the prongs may be adjustably mounted, so that the device can be used with files having the posts b at different distances apart.
