8202. Ayres, W. G., Ayres, L. H., and Ayres, G. R. June 2. Compound fabrics; backings.-Relates to the manufacture of a fabric such as is described in Specification 6907/84. A core 1 of burlap,or the like has fibrous material 2 pricked through it so that there is a layer of fibres on each side, and to one side is applied a preliminary coating 3. of a colloidal character, preferably cellulosic. Whilst this coating is still wet, the fabric is pressed to lay the fibres at the surface, and then a final coating 4 is applied, which may be stamped, pressed, or pebbled to imitate leather.
