Spectacle lenses.-A multi-focal eyeglass lens of one piece of glass has one surface of parabolic curvature and the other of spherical, cylindrical, or other curvature, the two surfaces being so related that the focus varies gradually and continuously from one end of the lens to the other. One or both surfaces may be concave. The lens may be made in the manner described in Specification 5583/15, a circular piece of glass being ground to the desired curvatures and cut through the centre, and a lens being shaped from each part ; or the centre of the parabolic curve may be so placed that one lens only is formed from each piece of glass.
