2813. Ashwell, C. Feb. 22. Razors, safety. A clamping-plate C, Fig. 2, has projections d and a stem D, whidh pass through an aperture B, Fig. 4, in a blade A and are respectively received in a recess in a guard E and in a hollow stem G, the plate C being secured by means of a screwed handle .portion H. The axis of the handle and the central longitudinal line of the blade are in the same plane and make with each other an angle of preferably 65 degrees, the handle axis being normal to the central transverse line of the blade; the edges of the guard E are provided with inclined grooves or incisions, and the blade-engaging surfaces of the plate C and guard E are concave and convex respectively.
