Abstract

599. Krupp Akt.-Ges., F. Nov. 20, 1913 [Convention date]. Rolling; shearing.-The ends of rolled bars are cut off between a pair of fixed cutters el, e<2> and a pair d<1>, d<2> carried by a slide D, which is reciprocated by an hydraulic cylinder F controlled by levers G, H. When the advancing bar J strikes the lever G, Fig. 1, the slide rises into the position shown in Fig. 2. The bar J is then advanced by hand or otherwise and is directed to the pass of rolls A by a guide B. When the lever H falls behind the bar, the slide moves down, cutting off the second end.
