Abstract

439. Carpenter, C. C. Jan. 11. Fixed racks, trays, and the like.-A drying tray or grid, shown in Fig. 1, is constructed of a board of wood &c. formed with parallel alternating grooves b, c cut in its opposite sides and connected by holes d bored through the sides of the channels. A modification, Fig. 6, comprises a series of parallel grooved rails e spaced apart within the sides of the tray, over which is placed a grid composed of laths g which cover the spaces between the rails. Air passages are, in this case, formed by reducing the height of the sides of the grooves in places, as at h.
