Abstract
23,934. Christiansen, C. J. V. Dec. 11, 1913, [Convention date]. Void. [Published under Section 91 of the Act.] Vehicle fittings and attachments.-A motor goods lorry or similar vehicle has the bottom wholly or in part movable transversely or longitudinally so that the load may be unloaded without changing the pusitiun of the vehicle body. In the form shown, the movable part of the bottom consists of endless-chain conveyers b, Figs. 1 and 2, driven by shafts e having worm-wheels h engaging worms on a transverse shaft f driven either by hand or from the vehicle motor, in either direction, through a power shaft m and bevel-wheels p, q, which are loose upon the shaft f and which may be locked thereto by a clutch z. Inverted V-shaped fittings r may be used between the conveyers tu assist the descent of the material, and the sides v of the vehicle may be removable or hinged at the bottom to facilitate the discharge. For dealing with materials which must not be mixed, the vehicle may be provided with removable or fixed partitions x, the body sections in this case having separate doors, and the sprocket-wheels d being loose on the shafts c and provided with individual clutches. The conveyer-chain links may be provided with stand-up laps s, Fig. 3, and push-bars t, Figs. 1 and 2, may be attached to the laps of contiguous chains, the spaces between the bars and the vehicle bottom being fitted by boards u.
