Abstract

23,323. Stafford, W. Dec. 10, 1913, [Convention date]. Sea-calming by discharging fluids.-A vessel for containing oil for sea-calming purposes comprises a preferably spherical receptacle having portions of its wall adapted to be easily ruptured. In the form shown, the container is made in two parts, namely, a lower hemispherical part, and an upper part provided with a filling-stopper 5 and with circular or elliptical parts 3 of thinner material than the rest. The parts 3 may be suitably coloured and are preferably flattened so that they can be easily located in the dark. The vessel is constructed of fibrous or paper composition suitably treated, or of any other light non-inflammable and non- combustible material.
