Staff, tablet, and ticket systems.-In order to permit transfer of a number of tokens from one end of a section to another in cases where the amount of traffic in one direction is greater than that in the opposite direction, a portable magazine 10 is provided to receive a number of tokens, and locks are fitted on the magazine and the instrument each operable by a key attached to the other member. When the magazine is in position on the instrument, the key 5, which is carried by and is undetachable from the magazine, is turned and removes a bolt 2 from an aperture on the instrument, and the key 4, which is undetachable from the instrument, is turned and removes a bolt 13 from a similar aperture in the magazine. Tokens can then be transferred between the magazine and the instrument through the opened apertures, but the apertures must be closed again before the keys can be withdrawn and the magazine removed. The keys and the locks on the instruments for any section are alike in order to coact with the magazine for that section, but they differ from those of other sections in order to prevent transfer of tokens between different sections.
