Abstract

19,990. Chrystall, A. Sept. 21. Connexions. - The inner and outer shells of vertical and like boilers are connected together at the firing-opening by a ring which consists of a steel stamping of the same thickness throughout and of a wavy or undulating formation. Fig. 4 shows the ring in section. The flanges K, L are slightly curved to conform to the curvature of the inner and outer shells and are secured in place by bolting, riveting, &c.
