Abstract

19,487. Watkins, A. Sept. 5. Automatic alarm signals.-Comprises a bell signal for indicating when a sample of dough has expanded a predetermined amount. The dough is placed in an inverted bell B contained in a cylinder A. The cylinder is closed by a hinged lid C provided with a bell D. A lever carrying the bell hammer H is pivoted on the lid, and is provided with a lug J which projects downwardly through the lid. A spring G urges the lever to take up the position shown in dotted lines, but the lug prevents this happening until the lid is raised by the top of the chamber B engaging an adjustable stop K. The lug J then flies out through a slot in the top of the casing and the hammer strikes the bell.
