D i r e c t air pressure apparatus, aulomatic.- Relates to automatic single-chamber pneumatic ejectors, and consists in means for housing the bell float employed and in utilizing the exhaust air. The bell float 7, Fig. 1, is held between the cover 8 of the chamber 1 and a bridge 9, which may support a strainer surrounding the float. The float carries an upper valve 6 for closing the exhanst pipe 3 and a lower valve 10 for closing the air-inlet pipe 2 ; the float also carries a rod 14 with a perforated bucket 15 attached to it. The liquid inlet is at 5, and the liquid-outlet pipe 4 is arranged as shown. The liquid inlet and outlet openings, both closed by valves, may be arranged at the bottom of the chamber 1. To economize pressure air, the exhaust pipe 3, Fig. 2, may have two branches governed by valves 19, 20. Exhaust air above a certain pressure closes the valve 20 and opens the valve 19, so that it may pass by the pipe 17 to the compressing- engine ; air below this pressure fails to raise the valves 19, 20 and thus passes by the pipe 18 into the atmosphere.
