Abstract
16,517. Zublin, E. July 10. [Addition to 19,460/11, Class 20(i), Buildings and structures, Kinds &c. of.] Storage chambers, emptying from below.-- In a loading or like hopper having a net-like curtain or closure, as described in the parent Specification, the curtain o is suspended from points p above the hopper exit, and an adjustable gate d is used to control the amount of material passing to the curtain in accordance with the nature and size of the material being discharged. The gate is moved in guides e by a lever h pivoted at k and having a retractable tongue g, which engages in any one of a series of holes f in the gate. A pin n, passing through the guide e, locks the gate. The curtain is operated only from its rear edge by two chains t which pass over drums wand support the weights u. By means of a linkage z, the drums may be coupled through a clutch to a driving- shaft for winding up the weights u when the curtain is to be lowered, the edge of the curtain meanwhile being made slack to facilitate the discharge.
