Abstract

15,660. Chappell, D. J. June 30. Jackets and covers; air tubes and chambers.- Covers or air-tubes are lined with a puncturesealing device consisting of a rubber honeycomb structure a, Fig. 5, having cells with undercut walls a' filled with a sticky material b obtained by just melting finely cut or ground caoutchouc or slightly vulcanized rubber and stirring-in more of the same material. For lining a cover, a canvas backing c, Fig. 1, is used which, in the case of application to an old cover, has also a layer of rubber. For lining an air-tube, the canvas backing is in two parts c, c<2>, Fig. 4, and the air-tube is made in two overlapping parts e, e<1>, vulcanized together at c<3>. The sticky material is described also in Specification 7288/14.
