Abstract

Cork, cutting.-In machines of the kind in which cork bars carried in tubular holders b on a revolving wheel a are cut into disks by a rotary cutter c, the bars are fed by springs n against a vertically adjustable guide ring d after each disk has been cut, and the waste ends are ejected from the holders by a spring e arranged opposite to a depressed narrow portion of the ring d so as to bear on the parts of the bars projecting beyond the wheel a. The cork bars are relieved from pressure while passing the spring e by the engagement of disks m inserted between the springs and the bars with guide rails f. The wheel and cutter are arranged above a table o which is provided with discharge apertures i, h for the disks and waste ends respectively. The guide ring d is provided with apertures above an aperture k in the table to provide for the escape of the cork cuttings.
