Abstract
11,789. Hampshire, F. W. May 13. Adhesive traps.-A fly-catcher consisting of a strip of paper or the like covered with adhesive material is wound in reel form and supported in a rectangular box upon trunnions, or a stationary axle, which passes through the ends of the box and bears upon the outer surface. In one form, the reel 1 is carried upon a hollow core 3, through which passes a metal strip or wire 5 which is bent over outside the box 4 In another form, the core 3 is solid or has solid ends and is supported by pins, nails, &c. inserted through the ends of the box 4. The box may be formed from the blank shown in Fig. 3, the part B forming the bottom, and the parts A, C the sides of the box, and the ends being of triple thickness and secured by the axle passing through the slots 9. The top of the box may be covered by flaps A', C' which form a hopper-like opening when in use, or by a removable lid to which the end of the adhesive strip may be attached.
