Circulating or passing materials through fluidsupplying apparatus.- In apparatus for spraying fabrics &c. with liquids as they pass from one roller to another, the liquid is supplied to the spraying-nozzles under pressure from an accumulator, and means are provided for controlling the supply. The fabric x passes as shown in dotted lines from one pile to another over a roller on the shaft f<1> and another roller h<2>. The shaft f<1> is driven through change-wheel gearing, to allow the speed to be altered, from the shaft a on which is a pinion capable of being slid along the shaft to bring it into or out of gear with the wheel c and also with a wheel d by which the liquidsupplying pump k<2> is actuated. The pump delivers liquid from the tank r to an accumulator m, and thence through pipes m<2>, m<3>, to spraying-nozzles m<4>. An adjustable spring- controlled relief valve 6 is fitted between the pump and the accumulator, with a pipe returning superfluous liquid to the tank. The pinion on the shaft a may engage either the wheel d or both wheels c, d, or be thrown out of action, by means of rack gearing o, o<1> and a fork o<3>, shown separately in Fig. 6, the rack gearing being operated by a handle n<1> capable of being locked in three positions accordingly, so that either the pump alone, both the pump and the fabric rollers, or neither, may be brought into action as desired. The shaft n of the handle n<1> carries a cam p, which by means of the lever and rack gearing acts to open and close cocks q<1> on the liquid-supplying pipes as the pump is brought into and out of action. Hand-operated cocks q<3> are also provided. Liquid draining from the fabric is caught in trays beneath it and in a trough below the bottom roller and returned to the tank, which is fitted with a filter plate and ordinary ballvalve supply arrangements.
