Abstract

9307. Roland, A. M. April 15. Brushing - apparatus; reservoir and self-feeding brushes.-A rotary brush is arranged to be driven by a flow of water operating a wheel and also a worm on the shaft of the rotary brush. The case 1, 2 is provided with a circular extension 3 in which a bucketwheel 17 is mounted. The wheel 17 is recessed centrally to receive the bevel-gear 18, 20, so that the shaft 21 can be centrally situated. The part 2 of the case has a tubular extension to form a jacket for the worm 26 on the shaft 21 and to act as a bearing for the outer sleeve 25 carrying the brush 27, of which only the perforated stock is shown. The water is supplied through the pipe 6, having an outer connexion 7. The part 5 of the casing 1 forms a chamber for soap &c. and is provided with a filling- cap and a needle valve controlling a supply pipe leading into the tube 6, so that the soap solution is drawn in by the flow of the water.
