[Cognate Application, 18,584/14.] Mechanical constructions, details for building up.-The invention consists in various detail improvements in constructional toys built up of rods and sockets. The rods are made of cardboard tubes. The sockets are of multiple form, and are made to form bearings &c. Various complete toys, such as winches, roundabouts, chairs, &c., are shown. Fig. 17 shows a winch formed of a perforated wooden base 3, cardboard tubes 2 connecting sockets 5, and a top multiple socket 9 perforated at 12 to carry a spindle, if necessary, and provided with a ring 13. Upright tubes 16 are perforated to take a crank-spindle 17 to which is connected a cord 14 carrying a load. In order to form a bearing for a spindle in a multiple socket such as that shown in Fig. 6, a bent perforated centre-piece 22 is provided, the ends of which slip into the inner ends of the sockets. An axle 25, Fig. 11, is fitted to a tube by bending the end 26, 27, 28 as shown in Fig. 12 inside a tube.
