Abstract

8908. Pegg, W. G. April 8. Rolls of fabric; rollholders, winding-devices for; hand winding-appliances. - A reel for elastic, tape, &c. comprises a barrel a with shoulders b rotatably mounted in apertures in the flanges c and secured thereto by washers d having teeth e passing through the part b into the material of the barrel. The shoulders are disks which may be those formed by cutting or punching the apertures in the flanges. One of the washers is provided with a handle f by which the barrel may be rotated relatively to one or both of the flanges. Barrels of different lengths to suit the width of the material may be used with the same flanges and washers. The reel may be arranged in a box having a slot for the passage of the material and an aperture permitting access to the handle ; or the flanges may be formed by the sides of the box.
