Abstract

6675. Barnicot, J. March 17. Lathes for cutting-off tubes &c. to a dead length have two rotary tool-heads secured at the desired distance apart, the work being held against rotation. The cutter slides 4 are adjusted by screws 19 according to the tube diameter and are fed by rotating a ring 11 which travels on a fixed screw 14 and rocks bell-cranks 9 against springs 22. Bowls on the bell-cranks run between flanges on the ring.
