Abstract

Shuttles, [changing bobbins. and the like in, automatically.-The weftends from the-bobbins or cops in an inclined guide-channel 1 are inserted between the rounded teeth of a short comb 8 on a holder 7 adjustably secured to a bracket 6, the weft-ends twisting together behind the comb owing to their inherent twist. The channel 1 has a flange 4 engaging over the outermost rings of the bobbins &c., the middle portions of which rest on a rail 3. The cut off weft-ends fall on to an horizontal guide-plate 9, which is secured to the bracket 6 and has a curved edge for guiding the weft-ends out of the range of the lay and picker.
