[Cognate Applications, 8019/14, and 14,394/14.] Resistances.-A waterheater has a tubular heating - element of the kind described in Specification 136/14, mounted in a casing h, preferably of silica, and provided with inlet and outlet pipes, so that water flows over the entire surface of the element. The outlet pipe f may extend into the element as shown, so as to leave only a narrow passage for water. A number of such heating-elements may be used. The element may be of oblong section.
