3091. Knudsen, H. C. Feb. 5. Photomechanical printing-surfaces.-A planographic printing-surface for half-tone printing is prepared by taking a grained plate, sensitizing with bichromated albumen, and printing from a negative in conjunction with a half-tone screen, which is on the glass side of the negative and may be in contact with it. A single source of illumination, such as an arc lamp, may be used for printing. After exposure, the plate is inked up, and developed by water, facilitated if necessary by rubbing with a tuft of cotton-wool.
