Abstract

A x l e structures. - Bushes 6 are fitted in the annulus between the load-tube 5 and the axle 1 to which one roadwheel hub 3 is keyed, the other road - wheel hub 4 being rotatable on the axle. The load-tube may be pivotally connected at its centre to the framework of the car. Each wheel is secured on the coned end of the axle by a screwed cap which is locked by a washer having a flexible tongue adapted to engage recesses in the edge of the cap, the washer being shaped to engage a flat on the axle so that it cannot turn thereon.
