Centrifugal ejector pumps.-A rotary air-compressor comprises a rotor B to which water is supplied under pressure by a duct a, and from which the water exhausts by a duct a<o>. Detachable liners a<3> are fitted, by which the water supply may be varied. A stationary central pipe C has suction and discharge passages c', c<2> communicating with the passages between the vanes b. The passages become partly filled with air at the point c, and the incoming water subsequently forces it out into the discharge c<2>. The degree of compression may be varied by turning the central pipe C. The rotor may be driven by the incoming water or by outside power, and the water may be worked in a circuit by a suitable pump.
