Adjusting height of body from ground; changing length of wheel base.-A collapsible wheeling- attachment for hand luggage comprises crossed telescopic supports pivotally attached to opposite ends of the suit case or the like and connected by a member which is slidably mounted in relation to each support. Angle-irons 1, 2 secured to the ends of the suit case are provided with bearings which receive respectively the T-head 15 of the rod 14 of one support and the cross-piece of the parallel rods 4 of the other support. The rod 14 is adapted to slide in a tube 12 carrying a wheel 16, ,and the rods 4 are adapted to slide in tubes 5 carrying an axle for two wheels 6. A T-tube 7 slidable on each tube 5 is fitted with a thumb-screw 8 adapted to extend through any one of a series of holes in the tube and to engage the corresponding rod 4 in any desired position of adjustment. A crossed tube member 10 is similarly adjustable upon the tube 12 and rod 14 by a thumb-screw 11, and nipples 9 secured in the side openings of the member 10 are rotatably mounted in the T-tubes 7. The construction admits of the attachment of the device to suit cases &c. of different lengths, of adjustment of the height above the ground, and of collapsing the device against the bottom of the case when not in use.
