U-tube apparatus. - In a feedwater-heater comprising a steam-chamber closed at one end by a water-chamber, partitions i, k, l, m, n divide the water-chamber into concentric spaces c, d, e, f, g connected in series by U-tubes in the steam-space, which may be similarly divided by partitions. The orifices of the several water-tubes are arranged radially and obliquely for the purpose of utilizing space to the greatest extent. The cross-section of the heater may be varied as desired.
