Abstract

28,136. Dossor, F. M. Dec. 6. Reciprocating or oscillating sieves. - Apparatus for cleaning and separating seeds, grain, meals, &c., which may be used in conjunction with the machines described in Specifications 13,335/05, 29,157/06, and 14,055/11, comprises a sieve mounted at D upon spring rods E jerked upwards in unison by cams H on spindles J. The sieve may be removed from the rods E and coupled with a crank-pin P on a disk Q and be reciprocated longitudinally. A belt B beneath the sieve conveys the material passing through the sieve to a hopper or a second sieve. A travelling brush, roller, or rubber U serves to clean the sieve, and a lid V is placed over it to retain the seeds &c. longer on the sieve when it is operated by the vertical jerking apparatus.
