Hand-grip wrenches. - A pipe wrench of the type having two crossed handles, one of which is of U-shaped section, is provided with teeth on the back of the inner member adapted to engage with a toothed locking-block 5 which may be pivoted within the U-shaped member. The toothed face of the locking-block may be flat or curved. In the modification shown in Fig. 2, the locking-piece 9 is provided with a perforation through which the inner member passes, the teeth being provided on the inner. surface of the perforation. A spring 11 may be provided to press the teeth into engagement. The inner member is provided with grooves or with a slot into or through which pass projections or a pivot upon which the perforated locking-piece is pivoted.
