Abstract
26,605. Wienerberger Metallwarenfabrik J. Ritter. Nov. 19, 1912, [Convention date]. Buttons.-In eyed buttons, the material of the button is pressed around the shank of an eyed insertion provided with a previously-formed head. A piece of wire 4, Fig. 2, provided with a head 3 and flattened neck 4' is passed through the central opening of a button head 1, which is then pressed around the neck 4<1> of the wire. The end of the wire is formed into an attaching-eye. A washer 5, Fig. 5, having an opening to fit the neck 4<1> and projecting teeth 7 may be placed between the button head 1 and the eye 4. Instead of being forged, the head 3 may consist of a cap 9 which is flanged around the bent ends 8<1> of a U-shaped shank 8, Fig. 7. Another form of eye which is stamped out together with the head from one piece of metal is shown in Figs. 8 and 9.
