Abstract

Kettles; over-filling, preventing.-order to prevent over-filling, kettles are provided with a chamber a open at the bottom and pivoted at c to the bottom b of the kettle, the chamber being adapted to trap air and to be held down by a rod e on the lid, when the lid is raised for filling. When the lid is closed, the rod e allows the chamber to rise and the trapped air to escape, thus lowering the level of water in the kettle.
