Abstract

23,000. McNeil, D. Oct. 11. Chisels, - A chisel or like cutting - tool having means for adjusting the depth of cut is provided with a slotted externally - screwthreaded shank 1 with a head or bar 4 extending at right-angles to one of the furcations of the shank, a blade 5 engaging the slot 3 in the shank and slotted at its inner end to form two pairs of inward projections 7, 8<1> which engage both ends of an adjusting-nut 8 threaded on the shank, and a collar 9 loosely mounted on the shank above the nut and having notches which engage the inward projections 7 at the end of the blade. The parts are locked together after adjustment by screwing the handle 2 home on the shank 1 and tightening the set-screw 11.
